The tennis Celebrity Frederik Fetterlein chooses the authentic Castle Hattonchatel Chateau in the Lorraine region of France as his wedding venue and wedding destination for his forth-coming romantic Castle wedding.

This will not be the first time that Hattonchatel Chateau will have been in the spotlight and at the centre of the media´s attention. The fabulous venue played host to “The Celebrities at the Castle” broadcast on TV2 during June 2010 and will once again be under the scrutiny of the media´s eye when Frederik Fetterlein will marry 25-year-old girlfriend a CBS student, Charlotte Damberg in February 2011.

Danish celebrity getting married in France – getting married for the second time

This will be the second celebrity wedding for the 40-year-old playboy and tennis star. Frederik was previously married to Czech fashion model Theresa Maxova whom he married in March 2000 in Rungsted church in Denmark. Together they have a son, now 10 years old, who resides with his mother in Monaco.
In addition Frederik Fetterlein had a relationship to singer Saseline Sørensen and they have a 2-year-old child.

The former tennis star Frederik said, “This time I am more nervous than before and this time my marriage will last forever” adding “This is the last time!”   “We both decided to have a small, intimate but very romantic wedding for maximum 125 wedding guests staying at Hattonchatel Chateau over the weekend for a 3 day duration, during which time the wedding ceremony will take place. Their wedding guests are to include immediate family, close friends and a few famous faces too!

It is going to be very interesting to see which of the tennis celebrities the wedding couple are going to invite to the romantic wedding. Is tennis star Andy Murray, Tim Henman, former tennis star Bjørn Borg, Rafael Nadal, Catarina Lindqvist, Stefan Bengt Edberg, Peter Lundgren, Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi or Roger Federer on the wedding list ? By now we know that former Swedish tennis champion Magnus Norman, Kenneth Cals, Caroline Wozniacky, boxer Brian Holm and playboy and reality star Sidney Lee are invited and have said yes to the special wedding invitation.

Beautiful wedding venue

The couple fell in love with the castle wedding venue and were pleasantly surprised to find that their exclusive and romantic castle wedding when calculated was indeed a very reasonable price and in fact worked out cheaper for them to marry abroad rather than stay in Denmark!  Frederik spoke with the owners of the Chateau and thanked them for their involvement and mainly for being able to accommodate them at such a short notice. Frederik commented that he felt that this would be like a Royal Wedding!

The owners advised the couple that the facilities at the Chateau are such, that each and every wedding is tailor-made. They are able to offer full wedding services, all arrangements and catering. Or, they could simply be given the key to the Chateau and have “carte blanche.” This then enables wedding couples the organization, wedding decoration etc. at the Chateau and its beautiful castle grounds, and its facilities to be theirs where they are able to design their own individual wedding and cuisine!

Change of the Danish wedding destination to a wedding location abroad

The Danish celebrities Frederik & Charlotte had considered holding their romantic wedding in medieval castles in Jutland or Funen. Alas, they derived at their many decisions of when, where and how under the invaluable help, guidance and supervision of their professional wedding planner, Christel Winther. It was Christel who suggested a castle wedding at Hattonchatel Chateau as their venue for their special wedding day – it is just the perfect wedding location, according to the wedding organizer.

According to the Danish newspapers, Christel Winther will be very much involved in assisting the beautiful lady Charlotte in choosing her beautiful white wedding dress and bridal bouquet. Christel will also undertake table planning and wedding menu choices, guest lists, wedding flowers and wedding decoration of the local chapel, which is situated within a few minutes stroll from the wedding Castle.

Wedding at Hattonchatel Chateau

The wedding couple is said to be extremely happy and very exited about their destination wedding in France. They are very much looking forward to their own fairytale wedding in the romantic castle. The wedding castle with its magnificent ambiance and beautiful castle grounds and the stunning views will provide the bride & groom with picturesque wedding pictures and wedding memories for years to come!

We all have stories to tell and here’s one of mine, dedicated to both of my sisters,  I Love  you Both

Pleased to meet you I am Larly the youngest of three sisters, the middle one is Charley and the eldest is Shelly. My two sisters got married within 3 months of each other and this is how it all went;

First Wedding

Shelley and Jerry
Shelly, the eldest made her wedding announcement first and decides to get married in the UK.  The wedding venue is in a hotel which is close by. I don’t know why, but   she took all the stress upon herself and became her own wedding planner, organiser and decision maker from start to finish and believe you me, it got very stressful at times! Her first big decision was pink!   Basically anywhere she could add a touch of pink got splashed! It all actually came together really well and lucked quite delicious! I hope you’re now getting some sort of imaginary picture. She had an exquisite long white wedding gown, the edging of which matched her wedding veil which purely by coincidence was trimmed in pink glittery bits and sequins, it was stunning! I have to skip over ever major and minor details and highlight the main wedding event.

On her Big Day……wedding day!

Everyone was suited and booted, the hairdresser came and did wonders with our hair and make up. The wedding bouquets were delivered with the relative button holes and corsages. The clock was ticking and the wedding cars arrived, she had 2 white Rolls Royce trimmed with pink ribbon, pink and white carnations hung delicately from the door handles and a small flower arrangement had been placed in the rear window. It was so exiting, all the neighbours and other on lookers had gathered by the roadside for a glimpse of the bride and wedding party.

La Caleta church wedding

Church wedding.

We were greeted by the vicar, he had a quite word with my sister, I think he was assuring her that all was well and calming any last minute wedding nerves. As we walked down the aisle, thoughts of tripping over or doing something wrong crept into my mind, I concentrated on where I was going as every eye in the church was watching us. I genuinely fought back tears as they took their wedding vows, it was very emotional.

All too soon or so it seamed the photographs had been taken and we were at the hotel. We gathered in the main bar of the hotel and were served with buck fizz. It suddenly dawned on me there were many more people here or had my eyes deceived me in the church, I obviously didn’t know everyone that Shelly and Jerry had invited, then, I saw them, another wedding couple!
How could this be I thought, what a nightmare and how do you separate guests, I could see my sister had just realised too and her and Jerry looked totally bewildered,  just then a loud voice came over the intercom system asking all the wedding guests from our wedding party to go to the banqueting hall number 2! To be honest I felt like I was in a farm, you know like separating cattle, anyway we eventually found our way.
I could hear the undercurrent discussion of what had just taken place and thank goodness it seemed to be shortly forgotten once the food came. The menu they chose was acceptably nice, the main course was a little on the cold side and I began to think about the other wedding and wondered if this was the reason. The speeches went well and daytime just seemed to drift into the evening, which brought even more guests to the wedding.
This was not much fun to begin with as the wedding next door had their evening guests arriving too and everyone seemed to be mingling between the two banqueting halls until they saw a familiar face.  I decided to post myself at the door and ask arriving guests if they were attending our wedding or not, after an hour or so I gave up and decided to go and unwind and enjoy the party which went on until around 1 a.m.

Its not really funny although we laugh about it now as we had to rescue Grandpa and Uncle Ron from the wedding next door, poor things got lost on the way back from the loo, it was some time before we discovered them missing but one knew where to find them, I thought they may have realised when they were charged for drinks next door as Shelley and Jerry had arranged a free bar. Perhaps they went in search of some young hot stuff!!

Some of the guests had made reservations at the hotel so as not to worry about drinking and driving, good idea! As for the rest of us we waited in a long queue for a taxi, the nightclubs were finishing too so we waited and waited…..

I tell you it was a memorable wedding day!

Second Wedding in a Castle

A place Where Dreams are Made

A place Where Dreams are Made

Charley & Dave
Charley didn’t wait too long and made her announcement. Quite a different scenario from Shelly, Charley’s only gone and got herself a castle wedding in France and a wedding organiser!

She really did her homework. I would have no idea how to get married in France. For instance, did you know, according to French law you have to be resident in France for 31 days in order to get married there, I didn’t but don’t be put off, read on! Charley and Dave got married in the registry office in our village, then, they had The Wedding Blessing!

We had a short flight from the UK into Luxembourg airport. It took us a little over an hour, firstly by motorway then country roads to reach our destination. As we approached the castle, our arrival was expected and the gates where already open.  WOW there it stood in all its glory, this magnificent historical castle. Honestly I stood there with my mouth open looking down at the breath taking valleys adorned by the beautiful countryside. This was to be our family home for the next five days.

My sisters beautiful Castle wedding

We were escorted to our rooms, I couldn’t wait. This was great! Time to explore, relax, be waited on and have a few tasters of some fine French Wines with no worries about driving ahhhh!

The wedding party in total was small, immediate family and a few close friends who had paid for their airfares and also accommodation, clever idea and very cost effective! Charley, Dave and the wedding organiser had co-ordinated everything, it was all planned to a faultless perfection.

Her beautiful Castle wedding day

On the morning of the wedding, we gathered in the great hall of the stunning castle, it wasn’t cold but there was a big fire burning in the fireplace. We had a buffet type continental breakfast, which consisted of an assortment of mouth watering delights. It was time to get ready. The wedding organiser had arranged a French hairdresser to arrange our hair. She was really sweet and did five hair do´s in no time at all. I helped Charley with her dress and veil, the suite she had was huge, a bed to die for and her own private sitting room which formed part of the tower with views over the Seine Valley and the most beautiful bathroom. I thought my suite was good but the Bridal Suite was something else, I was truly amazed. The Bridal Suite was in the tower of the Castle and had its own bathroom and lounge or sitting room.

I watched Charley come down the spiral staircase of the tower, a princess in her castle. We took our places behind her and went out of the castle and into the grounds. Every head turned to watch and a small band played here comes the bride. The wedding blessing was beautiful. Nothing about this ceremony was rushed or misunderstood. We threw lots of confetti adding even more colour to this wonderland setting.

Lovely wedding pictures

Lots of wedding pictures were taken and we were served champagne and canopies. There was no conception of time and one thing just flowed into another. We had a fabulous sit down meal within the castle, six courses, no rush, no fuss and no intruders! What a feeling of total, undisturbed relaxation. No fear of losing Grandpa and Uncle Ron this time! Later we had plenty to drink and danced the night away until we were all fit to drop!

It was great, we got up the following day and had a leisurely brunch, I could really get used to this! We spent the day in the French castle and its grounds. What a surprise, the following day, Charley and Dave had arranged for us to go ballooning, if you have never had this experience Wow, do it!! With time running out, we just had to fit in visits to Metz which apparently they call the City of Light and then to Verdun to see where the great battle of Verdun took place in the first World War.

So there you have it, two weddings. Independently different but both wonderful. Where should I have my wedding, when someone asks me I will tell you, watch this space!!
